Equipment failure cannot be pre-empted but they can most certainly be anticipated.
As much as you would like to pray that everything goes well and without so much as a hitch whenever you are covering a wedding as its official wedding photographer, it would not always be guaranteed and it is not the wisest way for you to go about and handle things the entire time that you are at it. It is pretty much like talking yourself outside and praying and hoping that it won’t rain and you didn’t even bother to go ahead and bring an umbrella along with you while you are there. It would not be practical. It would be downright negligent and careless. More than that, it would technically be unfair to your clients, to think that they are paying you a lot of money to cover their wedding. It is one of the most important days of their lives, after all.
Bring a second camera along with you all of the time.
Whenever you have a wedding that you need to shoot or cover for, as a wedding photographer who is quite professional and well versed in all of his ways, you need to make sure that you always bring a second camera along that will get to serve as your insurance somewhere along the way. Just bring one along with you. It will be the perfect contingency plan for you to set in place. And more than that, you are always guaranteed to have something along with you that will get to save you from equipment failure if in case it does happen to you.
It would be a bit irresponsible not to bring one along with you as a wedding photographer.
Technically speaking, you are allowed to charge a fairly atrociously high price for your professional services as a wedding photographer because it means that you will also have all of the equipment that you could possibly want or need the whole time that you are there during the wedding. You should be responsible enough to have a secondary camera along with you all of the time.
If you do not have an extra camera right now, you don’t have to buy one yet if it is not the kind of thing that you will be able to go ahead and afford. You can always opt to borrow a spare camera from your friends or rent or lease it out from some of the people you know in the wedding photography industry. There will always be an enterprising wedding photographer out there who will try to go ahead and lease you out the equipment that you need. It really is all a matter of finding the right person and make sure that that person has the kind of gear that you could need to cover you as a wedding photographer in Lake District.
It is much needed especially if you are bringing in a second shooter during the wedding photographer coverage. A second shooter will obviously need a second camera as well. This is something that goes without saying.
